Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to talk to the Chudleigh Writer's Group about my life in writing- and to present them with a mini writing workshop.
I confess, I was a little nervous. Although I spend a lot of time talking to groups of people about my work, and I teach all the time- I still get a touch of stage fright- especially when I am teaching/talking to such a well established group of authors. However, I need not have worried - what a wonderful bunch of people!
I had a great time- not just during the morning of chat and writing, but afterwards as well, when I was taken to the lovely Harvey's of Chudleigh for coffee and a DELICIOUS slice of coffee and walnut cake.
Here comes the part when I have to confess something - I lost the photo I took of the cup!! It went all scrambled on my phone. This means that you are going to have to take my word for how lovely the cake was- and how tasty the coffee was. If you are in Chudleigh, I would recommend a visit to Harvey's to find out for yourself.
I should tell you however, that if you are planning to do any work over your coffee, that laptops are not allowed- and mobile phones are frowned upon. This is a technology free space. Although that wouldn't suit me if I was in full writing mode, for my visit it was just fine for I was caught happy chatter with other authors- one of my very favourite ways to pass the time.
Happy coffee sipping,
